Brand and model:Custom-built.
Capacity:Between 250 and 2500 L/h per square meter of photoreactor.
Description:This pilot plant is composed of photoreactors connected to a water tank and a diaphragm pump, with anodized aluminum panels and borosilicate tubes through which water and photoactive materials circulate. One of the photoreactors is used for the oxidation of emerging contaminant molecules and pathogenic microorganisms, producing ultrapure water and CO2. The other is designed for the reduction of toxic metals such as arsenic, chromium, cadmium, mercury, etc., and also allows for the recovery of precious metals such as gold, platinum, silver, among others. Both photoreactors use two different types of titanium-based biochars produced at UDT to carry out oxidation or reduction reactions depending on the intended purpose.
